Greetings Fellow Toastmasters,

Our toastmaster for the evening was Pattie Apple.  Theme was weather.  Word
of the day was Frantic; emotionally out of control.  Elizabeth had a
wonderful joke.  The punch line was how can you get a brain freeze if you
are wearing a beanie?

Speaker #1.  Jennifer Dunne.
It's time for a change.  Title of speech pathways perfected.  Deliberate
practice.  Focus on specific skills.  Benefits of change is for members to
see more types of speeches.

Speaker #2.  Mel Sandoval.
Ice Breaker speech.  Under the moonlight.  Gas station clerk.  Handstand in
front of the coke machine.  God thing.  Perfect people searching for a
perfect God.  There are many races in life and if you are breathing, race
is not finished.

Some notable questions and answers

1.  Katelynn Pau.  Which is worse, frostbite, drowning, or severe sunburn.
After explaining each, Katelynn chose Severe Sunburn.

2.  Dirk Kittridge.  Which season do you most identify with?  A:
Margarium.  (I didn't know there were more than four seasons).

3.  Jennifer Dunne.  What weather can you do without?  A;  Love watching
tornados on TV where pieces of a house are gone.  Flood and rowboats.
Pictures of an avalanche.

Katelynn Pau was our General Evaluator.

Evaluator #1  Dirk Kittredge on Jennifer.  Wonderful ideas.  Amount of
Angst?  Not enough pen up demand.  Engaging slides where they were not
distracting.  Make slides bigger.

Evaluator #2.  Jonathan on Mel.  Enthusiasm.  Great title to speech.
Touchy and heartfelt speech. Emotional opening.  Beacon comes from dark
places.  Strong delivery.  Slow down.  Potential and passion.

Best Table Topics: Dirk Kittredge
Best Evaluator:  Jonathan Kolber
Best Speech:  Jennifer Dunne

Congratulations to all the winners.  Robin had a nice description on why he
loves to be a table topics master.  When you don't expect to be called on,
that's the best because that's my job.  Another interesting milestone was
when both speakers today broke out singing during their speech.  Mel had
one of the best Ice Breaker speeches I've heard in a long time.

We've all been giving speeches via zoom for a year now.  And the experience
in giving a live speech is always going to be a little more special.  I
think we've all done a phenomenal job with zoom despite its limitations.
We've maintained our connections during this time.  We've lost a few
members and we've gained a few members.  We've kept the journey moving
forward and for that everyone should be proud of themselves for staying
with it.  I know there are days where we would prefer to do something
else.  But after the meeting, we always feel glad we showed up.  If not for
ourselves, then for others.  We are here to support each other and we're
here to help everyone grow.  And there's always something to take away from
each meeting.  Thank you everyone for being a part of this club.  It would
not be the same if you were not there.
