Subject: [gtd-net] Outing info.....
Dudes…….as Dicktator Kevin stated, we had an update talk the other day…….was
back up at Twin Knobs today, so here’s a bit of additional info……
At the check in entrance station, everybody will be given a parking pass to
hang on the rear view mirror…….we have 2 group sites…….East (Pavillion) and
Tent……….not sure how they will hand out the parking passes for each site, but
just take the one they give you and should be good to go…….can figure out
parking passes, campsite pick, etc. when back at the group site…….
Until about 3 weeks ago, the limit per site was 10 people for a total of 20
since we have 2 sites…….it’s now 20 per group site for total of 40……glad they
changed that maximum number as at last count, had about 24 Dudes attending,
plus a few day visitors……so should be good to go……
When the campground concessionaire Tony finally returned my call a few days
ago, he talked about distancing, etc. etc……said they’d be over to “check on
us”……..if they do stop by, probably best to be following the goofy guidelines
as best we can, so we hopefully won’t see them again coming back to “check on
us”…..told him a lot of us have had vaccine……he said that’s good but they
gotta do their thing and all that……
At campground entrance…..huge sign………..Alcohol beverages prohibited………..not
sure how serious they are about that, but probably good idea to keep liquor
most out of sight, if they gonna be coming over to “check on us”……
As Dicktator mentioned, feel free to bring dollies, wagons, wheelbarrows,
etc……come in handy to get stuff, in case of rain (It’s not gonna rain)
but………..can get gear and stuff from parking lot up to the covered shelter
pavilion, then figure out a campsite…..
Also, there will be tarps, of course, but those stand alone canopies would
come in handy……..there is a big serving table next to the hugeass
grill………stand alone canopy come in handy there…….
After leaving campground entrance station, will make a left back to the group
sites…….then another left……….at the sign that says East Group and Tent group
site, the East/Pavillion site is to the right……..Tent site straight
ahead………..probably be good idea at arrival to take the right to the
East/Pavillion site……..it’s a loop,………….check it out then back to main road,
make a right over to the Tent site……….it’s a loop also……….that way, we can
see which area preferred to set up campsite………
Really looking forward to this year’s outing and seeing everybody…………
Thanks, Scoutman…..

Subject: [gtd-net] And...
This reminder just in from ScoutMan central:
GTD’s might want to bring a wheel barrow or hand truck to facilitate moving
gear to their respective campsight AND moving firewood to the respective
FireMan bonfire. A wheelchair tournament/race was proposed, perhaps a
Rughead walking stick three legged race? What could go wrong?
TarpMan also mentioned the likelihood of THEMAN coming by to count heads and
measure interpersonal distancing in accordance with the random whims of those
that know better for us all, until they move that goalpost. I suggested we
could each bring a hog and feed the revenuer to them in a time honored
bootlegger fashion but that was voted down by a majority of ScoutMan, who’s
way more civilized than me. There may also be a request for group ID upon
entering the state/fed park for those coming in for the day, black armbands
with a golden crown will be issued for ease and rapidity of identification by
THEMAN (keep in mind it is for your own good).
Meanwhile, I’ll be smoking a couple of pork shoulders (totally unrelated to
the revenuer/hog feeding) on Saturday in anticipation of Pam and a few other
spousal units coming down for a bit of an €tB memorial complete with some of
his ashes (or maybe some from the bbq? at any rate there will be ashes).
Spousal units are expected to crash for the evening at the Comfort Inn just
North of our campground and leave the GTD’s to fish, play mumbly-peg or
whatever level of respectful debauchery we’ve come to enjoy or tolerate per
each comfort level. Any spousal units will be required to figure that shit
out for themselves, as most have some level of contact or can get it.
Hopefully Brian will bring his ax as drinking and wood chopping was a
pleasurable enough past time, though the firewood supplier is likely building
his own firewood kiln to dry said firewood after hearing from SCOUTMAN for
bringing us green wood last October. Poor guy probably is having nightmares,
I’ll let him know he’s lucky to be able to dump the firewood and not stack it
in order of size, species and % moisture content with SCOUTMAN as our
receiving clerk!
Looking for a good time with all the dudes regardless of regulation... or
deregulation.

You guys are all the best! (just some a little better than others… lest we
get a little over sentimental :o)
