#10167: Radeon HD 6950 crashes on booting ------------------------------------------+---------------------------- Reporter: Guest One | Owner: kallisti5 Type: bug | Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: R1 Component: Drivers/Graphics/radeon_hd | Version: R1/Development Resolution: | Keywords: HD6950 Blocked By: | Blocking: 7665 Has a Patch: 0 | Platform: All ------------------------------------------+---------------------------- Changes (by anevilyak): * cc: stippi (added) Comment: Replying to [comment:14 pulkomandy]: > It looks like the screen->Initialize() call in _AddHWInterface returned an error, and the screen is deleted because of that. Could this lead to the accelerant being unloaded while it's still somewhat in use? That would at least explain the backtrace. If the app_server still has an accelerant_hooks structure with function pointers into the accelerant, and attempts to call one after the latter has already been unloaded, that would certainly lead to a crash like we're seeing. That's a separate question from why the accelerant fails to initialize correctly though, and probably deserves its own ticket. In any case, CCing stippi in case he has any insight into the app_server part. -- Ticket URL: <https://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/10167#comment:15> Haiku <https://dev.haiku-os.org> Haiku - the operating system.
