With a sound selected for Beep, change the volume while playing a sound
or video file from the Deskbar volume replicant. The media_server and
Deskbar stop functioning. one must kill the Deskbar, Media_server, and
MediaPlayer from the Team monitor and then re-start the Desktop to regain
control of the system.
Changing the volume using the setvolume command line tool doesn't lock up
any components.
Changing the volume without a soundfile selected for Beep doesn't lock up
any components.
It is a combination of using the volume replicant and having a sound set
for Beep causes the issue.
