#10991: readdir (dirent.h) does not have d_type ----------------------------+---------------------------- Reporter: waddlesplash | Owner: nobody Type: enhancement | Status: closed Priority: normal | Milestone: R1 Component: System/POSIX | Version: R1/Development Resolution: invalid | Keywords: Blocked By: | Blocking: Has a Patch: 0 | Platform: All ----------------------------+---------------------------- Comment (by axeld): It's a bad idea to rely on it, but there is no reason that Haiku could not support it -- most file systems should be able to support it properly. The only problem I see is with binary compatibility. We could reuse the extra query fields, though, but that would mean they have a different meaning for queries and directory listings. However, I'm not sure it's worth the trouble, unless you have a good example of what kind of optimization this feature allows for. -- Ticket URL: <https://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/10991#comment:3> Haiku <https://dev.haiku-os.org> Haiku - the operating system.
