Comment:

 The problem described here (with respect to Python missing the
 _collections module and a lot of others) should have been fixed by
 Jonathan's changes to haikuports.cross, but maybe I'm remembering that
 incorrectly.

 But even with a working Python, the bootstrap fails. I'm currently working
 on getting that fixed and although I've made considerable progress, I'm
 still not there - as of yesterday, gcc fails to build on the bootstrap
 image, because it doesn't want to build libquadmath.
