When configuring a new POP3 mail account, the "destination directory"
field is left empty by default. This causes fetching mail to fail because
it sees the directory as "", there is not even an error message, it just
 silently fails and does nothing.

Not sure whether this is a bug in the UI code or the backend, that depends
on how the code design was orignally thought to work.
