It's actually a feature, i think there is a setting to disable it.

There is, but it's supposed to only apply to video clips from my
understanding. The code at

https://github.com/haiku/haiku/blob/master/src/apps/mediaplayer/Controller.cpp#L355
doesn't perform this check.

Why would it only apply to videos?
