Once you see how selecting on MouseUp works I think you may come to
appreciate it.
I did try your patch and as I commented there, I find it feels extremely
weird and offputting. Everything in the GUI reacts very responsively on
MouseDown, but only non-draggable lists would react on MouseUp... I don't
like it.
If you can make this scrolling work, but keep the normal select-on-
MouseDown, OK. But if it can't be done, I'd rather live without this
feature. And even if you did, isn't the inconcistency between draggable-
item-lists and other lists a no-no? One can be scrolled like this, one
cannot. And since you don't have a visual clue, you always have to try and
see if it drags an item or scrolls the list...
I suspect that it was more appreciated back in the BeOS days, before mouse
wheels and (two-finger scrolling) touchpads.
