Are you sure the Font set in CharacterMap actually contains those symbols?
E.g. Noto Sans CJK contains the CJK symbols, the regular Noto Sans
doesn't. AFAIK Haiku doesn't yet have a fallback function to replace non-
existing symbols in one font with ones from another.
