This is hrev53868.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Set "BeBeep.wav" from BeOS R5 PE as Beep sound in Sounds preference.
2. Open Terminal.
3. Press and hold backspace key.
4. Sound will play with glitches and repeat longer than needed.
System sounds are implemented in media_addon_server, so setting component
to it.
