First of all, how big is the USB stick? A stick that is too small will
fail in very weird ways.
How much GPU memory do you have?
As the linked code shows, we get an address from UEFI and add the
requested size to check if it is less than 512GB. This suggests that size
is either -1 or corrupted, or your your machines have weird fw returning
very high addresses. (High addresses are unlikely, as that would not
follow UEFI spec).
I recommend re-downloading, and using a different USB stick as a first
check.
