It seems that since some time, encoding some media into an avi file using
the media kit results in a file unplayable by mediaplayer.
I've done the following tests:
- Grabbed an avi file from here: https://file-examples.com/index.php
/sample-video-files/sample-avi-files-download/:
MediaPlayer plays it correctly
SMPlayer plays it correctly
- Converted that file from AVI to AVI using MediaConverter
MediaPlayer cannot play it
SMPlayer plays it correctly
