#3171: Better prompting in Tracker file operations -----------------------------------+----------------------------- Reporter: anevilyak | Owner: anevilyak Type: enhancement | Status: new Priority: high | Milestone: R1/alpha3 Component: Applications/Tracker | Version: R1/pre-alpha1 Resolution: | Keywords: Blocked By: 1420 | Has a Patch: 0 Platform: All | Blocking: 3296 -----------------------------------+----------------------------- Comment (by humdinger): The motivation: ATM, if you copy a folder to a location that already has one of that name, you can only choose between replacing the existing one completely or abort the operation. Therefore (1).[[BR]] If you decide to merge the containing files (or files in general) it would be nice to have more options to deal with "clashing files". Therefore (2).[[BR]] You should get more info to decide what file to keep. Therefore (3). Items <-> files, clashing, checksum etc. are just words I used for discussing the feature in priciple. Nailing those down is the last step. "Runtime" BTW, is the currently used term. As making mockups can be time consuming, I'd rather wait until there is an indication that a majority supports the general direction. -- Ticket URL: <http://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/3171#comment:8> Haiku <http://dev.haiku-os.org> Haiku - the operating system.
