 When a plugin is loaded the event-processor thread runs the plugin
 program, so if Flash (and an ancient one at that) does a lot of processing
 so does Firefox. You can usually see that when plugins load everything
 stops. They might have changed that recently though.

 I don't think there will ever be any work done on BeZilla. It was a nice
 piece of software at the time, but now it's just outdated.
