 This problem is most probably related to hardware. The VGA port is the
 primary one as can be seen in the syslog excerpt above, and Haiku uses it,
 failing to detect (or use) the built-in panel. That' why the external
 monitor works fine, but the panel does not. The Linux folks had that
 problem as well:

 I'm trying to get this straight in the accelerant, and have the backlight
 switching on already, but the display still remains black. I wished
 someone with more expertise could have a look on that. Btw. does anyone
 know what happened to Thomas Kurschel, the author of that driver?
