 more meaningful values for users. Ideally it could be a global setting for
 "data size" formatting just like number formatting or monetary formatting
 so that people can keep "kilobyte era" habits if they really want to.

 This would be an enhancement :) I always thought the gigabyte term was
 misused and meant for users "GiB", we just use the good notation, the
 numbers are the same.
