 I definitely welcome hiding the cursor for text fields, but I agree with
 the OP that doing it all the time is somewhat unexpected. I can't say I've
 ever really noticed the mouse cursor getting in the way when reading a
 webpage, but I certainly do notice the difficulty of finding it again when
 wanting to click something. So much of the internet relies on mouse
 navigation I feel hiding the cursor is a mistake.

 So I'd agree that the default should be not to hide the cursor. I also
 wonder if it really needs to be a setting - but then the "mouse getting in
 the way" problem has obviously annoyed you enough to implement the feature
 Stephan, so I guess it's likely to stay ;)
