#6219: mediaplayer playback chokes with a few videos --------------------------------------+------------------------------------- Reporter: samui | Owner: stippi Type: bug | Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: R1 Component: Applications/MediaPlayer | Version: R1/alpha2 Keywords: | Blockedby: Patch: 0 | Platform: All Blocking: | --------------------------------------+------------------------------------- filed a similar bug (#6188) a few days ago but this is on a different build of haiku so im filing it as a new bug build 37184, 256mb of mem, intel i5 2.6ghz, virtualbox opening six mp4 videos runs ok. opening a seventh one makes the processor go 100% stopping all playback on all the opened mediaplayer windows. The playerheads keep moving on and sometimes even the sound indicators keep moving, no sound though) but playback wont resume even if you click play or whatever. processor time usage goes down to minimum. for some reason playback does not survive a peak in processor usage. same thing in r1 alpha 2 made player windows elegantly to drop frames (which i think is the preferred thing to do). also r1 alpha2 allowed me to open more videos at the same time albeit crashing everything in the end. closing all media player windows wont work, killing mediaplayer crashes media add on server and then media server. i filed that as different bug though. -- Ticket URL: <http://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/6219> Haiku <http://dev.haiku-os.org> Haiku - the operating system.
