#6597: tracker copies additional bfs data onto ntfs drive but it shouldnt ------------------------------------+---------------------------- Reporter: streak | Owner: axeld Type: bug | Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: R1 Component: Applications/Tracker | Version: R1/Development Resolution: | Keywords: Blocked By: | Blocking: Has a Patch: 0 | Platform: All ------------------------------------+---------------------------- Comment (by pulkomandy): There is no clear reply from Windows users here. Does the "stream loss" alert only happen when copying to FAT, or also when copying between NTFS volumes? (this is not about the initial copy done from Haiku, which is alwas from BFS to NTFS). * If the alert is only shown in Windows when copying to FAT, then we don't need to do anything: Windows is warning that the attributes will be missing from the copy, and ightfully so. * If the alert happens also when copying/moving between NTFS volumes (or inside the same volume) then it is more annoying: it means Windows isn't able to preserve the attributes in that case, even if the filesystem allows it. In that case, the attributes are less useful, but still not completely useless, so I'm not sure what we should do. -- Ticket URL: <https://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/6597#comment:9> Haiku <https://dev.haiku-os.org> Haiku - the operating system.
