Couldn't that be done via the existing "Input" pop-up menu? I think it's great that you want to improve SoundRecorder. However, it should not replace fully fletched audio editors. Therefore the introduction of new features must be considered carefully. Connecting to any node is a nice addition. So is what's listed in #9285 and #6829.
