Does the usb_modeswitch driver installed in your Haiku?
This kind of device comes with an virtual CD-ROM but for some reason
Haiku may don't like what he find there at boot time.
Maybe because the usb_modeswitch is not included in the boot tarfs image,
so the device is fully inited like it should be.
Could you post the syslog of an halted boot so one could see where does it
stops?
