Comment:

 Still present in Alpha 4.1.  Intel 4500 MHD with a 1600x900 screen.  The
 splashscreen never goes away and I see a box ~800 pixels wide by ~3 pixels
 tall with colors and movement suggestive of being a compressed version of
 the desktop.

 Sorry for necroing this bug, but I haven't been following the project very
 closely since my work-around for this bug stopped working.  (I used to use
 a pre Alpha 1 intel_extreme driver that mostly worked, albeit with some
 color distortion.  Haiku stopped booting with that driver some time back.)
