#8111: Haiku refuses to boot. on Gateway NV55S09u -------------------------+----------------------- Reporter: Luposian | Owner: nobody Type: bug | Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: R1 Component: - General | Version: R1/alpha3 Resolution: | Keywords: Blocked By: | Blocking: Has a Patch: 0 | Platform: x86 -------------------------+----------------------- Comment (by mmlr): Replying to [comment:20 Luposian]: > Ok, here are all 13 images. Now that's what I'm talking about, thanks a lot! And it actually shows what's going on: In shot 9 the interrupt routing preparation fails due to an invalidly configured secondary bus. This causes the interrupt model to revert to legacy PIC (which has a relatively good chance of not working due to firmware being buggy (as noone really tests that anymore)). The shots further down then indicate the inevitable, namely USB and AHCI not getting any interrupts, therefore failing to work, leading to the boot volume not being available. As mentioned above we really need the IO-APIC on a system like this, as the legacy PIC obviously isn't actually working, so I'll now try to figure out what happened to that secondary bus config. -- Ticket URL: <http://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/8111#comment:21> Haiku <http://dev.haiku-os.org> Haiku - the operating system.
