At this point we are pretty well set on HVIF icons, and applications
 which want PNGs can use them via translations.
 you're missing the point of this ticket, which is to have a tool that can
 export from PNG to SVG/HVIF, and I-OM seems the designated one for this
 task, it already supports exporting from SVG/HVIF to PNG but the reverse
 case is still missing and was planned, see @axeld's comment, the fact that
 i mentioned "porting other projects", was just one of several use cases
 why one would need to export PNGs to vectors.
 Please keep it open until this feature is implemented.
