#8330: Regression: Acer Travelmate 800 only boots in safe mode, start of net_server freezes system -------------------------+---------------------------- Reporter: taos | Owner: nobody Type: bug | Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: R1 Component: - General | Version: R1/Development Resolution: | Keywords: Blocked By: | Blocking: Has a Patch: 0 | Platform: All -------------------------+---------------------------- Comment (by taos): Using hrev43745 (gcc2hybrid). Played around a little with the new nightly. With ipw2100 and broadcom440x deactivated system still crashes during post_install script. So net_server probably isn't the culprit. After booting Deskbar (yesterday I think it was Tracker) crashed with the warning: The application[[BR]] /boot/system/Deskbar[[BR]] has encountered an error which prevents it from continuing. Haiku will terminate the application and clean up. At that time, mouse pointer is already non-responsive. I've added the syslog of two boot attempts (see syslog_hrev43745.txt for complete syslog). At first sight, only the following lines seem strange for me: {{{ KERN: vm_page_fault: vm_soft_fault returned error 'Bad address' on fault at 0x77ff7fe0, ip 0x48e629, write 1, user 1, thread 0xae KERN: vm_page_fault: thread "TrackerTaskLoop" (174) in team "Deskbar" (120) tried to write address 0x77ff7fe0, ip 0x48e629 ("libbe.so_seg0ro" +0x233629) KERN: debug_server: Thread 174 entered the debugger: Segment violation DAEMON 'DHCP': /dev/net/ipw2100/0: Timeout shift: 2 secs (try 1) DAEMON 'DHCP': /dev/net/ipw2100/0: Send DHCP_DISCOVER to 255.255.255.255:67 KERN: bfs: bfs_create_index:2077: File or Directory already exists Last message repeated 1 time KERN: stack trace, current PC 0x48e629 line__Q23aggt19rasterizer_cells_aa1ZQ23agg13cell_style_aaiiii + 0x9: KERN: (0x77ff8160) 0x48e677 line__Q23aggt19rasterizer_cells_aa1ZQ23agg13cell_style_aaiiii + 0x57 KERN: (0x77ff8310) 0x48e677 line__Q23aggt19rasterizer_cells_aa1ZQ23agg13cell_style_aaiiii + 0x57 KERN: (0x77ff84c0) 0x48e677 line__Q23aggt19rasterizer_cells_aa1ZQ23agg13cell_style_aaiiii + 0x57 }}} Could some change in hrev43742 cause this? I noticed the problems with that revision first. -- Ticket URL: <http://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/8330#comment:1> Haiku <http://dev.haiku-os.org> Haiku - the operating system.
