#8434: Building to GPT disks may write the wrong partition offset under Linux ----------------------------+---------------------------- Reporter: tqh | Owner: bonefish Type: bug | Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: R1 Component: Build System | Version: R1/Development Resolution: | Keywords: Blocked By: | Blocking: Has a Patch: 0 | Platform: All ----------------------------+---------------------------- Comment (by bonefish): I think it should always be checked whether the disk is GPT partitioned and *never* even be tried to determine the partition offset using the partition map method, if it is. That would IMO already fix the bug part of the ticket. Regarding udev, I don't know how stable the `udevadm` output is, but using the command (via `popen()`) rather than the library might be a viable option. -- Ticket URL: <http://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/8434#comment:13> Haiku <http://dev.haiku-os.org> Haiku - the operating system.
