#9214: NVIDIA GTX460 : cannot use resolution bigger than 1280x1024 ---------------------------------------+--------------------------- Reporter: smartmobili | Owner: rudolfc Type: bug | Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: R1 Component: Drivers/Graphics/nVidia | Version: R1/alpha4.1 Resolution: | Keywords: nvidia gtx460 Blocked By: | Blocking: Has a Patch: 0 | Platform: x86 ---------------------------------------+--------------------------- Changes (by umccullough): * keywords: => nvidia gtx460 * owner: nobody => rudolfc * component: Drivers => Drivers/Graphics/nVidia Comment: Our nvidia driver doesn't support chips this new yet - so you're going to be stuck with VESA mode until it does. VESA is limited to video modes offered by your card's VESA BIOS. These days, the VESA BIOS in most cards is usually pretty bare-bones, and nvidia especially doesn't put a lot of effort into theirs it seems. You can see at the top of the syslog when the VESA mode list is queried, that 1280x1024 is the largest option offered by your card. Basically, this ticket should become an enhancement request to add support for your card to the nvidia driver - otherwise you can also try a different video card. -- Ticket URL: <http://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/9214#comment:1> Haiku <http://dev.haiku-os.org> Haiku - the operating system.
