#9332: auto complete web address ----------------------------------------+---------------------------- Reporter: harvard | Owner: leavengood Type: enhancement | Status: reopened Priority: normal | Milestone: R1 Component: Applications/WebPositive | Version: R1/Development Resolution: | Keywords: Blocked By: | Blocking: Has a Patch: 0 | Platform: All ----------------------------------------+---------------------------- Comment (by pulkomandy): I personally dislike that feature. Often I type "github.com" and end up on "gist.github.com", for example, because the browser isn't very good at matching URLs with what I type. Knowing that it's possible to type part of an URL, then use the down key to select the first match in the current list, and that still allows typing an URL you really mean, without the autocomplete messing with it, I'd prefer things to stay as they are. Should auto-complete be made the default, is there a way to undo it and get to the URL I typed, even if it happens to be a substring of another URL? If there is, I think the discoverability of it is not as good as what we currently have (press down to select the next item in the list is fairly obvious). -- Ticket URL: <https://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/9332#comment:6> Haiku <https://dev.haiku-os.org> Haiku - the operating system.
