Dear Nicholas Apps,
Ofcom has now completed its work on your recent Restricted Service Licence
application. For Ofcom to issue your licence and confirm your frequency and
authorised power level, you must now pay Ofcom your licence fee in full.
Attached to this email are two emails directly from our database, which contain
one invoice each (licence fees for The Broadcasting Act, and WT Act). These two
emails have identical subject headings of “IMPORTANT - Document From Ofcom
Broadcast Licensing.” Please note that both emails need your immediate
attention.
You must pay the licence fees within two weeks of the date of this email, and
by the Payment Date Deadline set below. Once payment is received and cleared,
we will issue your licence on the payment deadline date. This will contain the
details of the specified frequency and power you must use.
IMPORTANT: Please note that we no longer release details about the frequency
and power over the phone or email, but only via the WT Act Licence.
If, within the two-week payment period, an applicant does not pay the licence
fees or they have not cleared into Ofcom’s account, Ofcom will write to the
applicant and make it clear that as they have failed to pay the licence fee on
time, their licence has not been issued and they should not therefore broadcast
their service. This will also be conveyed to Ofcom’s Enforcement team who will
take urgent action if an applicant goes ahead with its broadcast without a
licence.
For applicants that have an internal finance department, please note it is the
responsibility of the applicant to chase their own finance department to ensure
the two-week payment deadline is met. It is also the applicant’s responsibility
to check the amount of time their chosen payment method: (e.g. BACS, CHAPS,
online, cheque) will take for their payment to clear into Ofcom’s account.
The quickest way to pay your licence fees is online (by credit or debit card)
at https://secure.ofcom.org.uk/payments/
