I noticed a lot of microphone buzz and hum during Sarah's programme last
night. I know we have chokes on the mic leads but wondered whether a lot
of the problem was due to RF on the mains. Given the long run down the
garden this is quite likely.
I have asked at work and may be able to get hold of either:
1. Mains filter - 68 amp
2. UPS - 3kW
Both of these are quite large and heavy and the former would require a
mains isolating transformer and an RCD to provide protection. I think
the UPS would be simpler as everything is built in.
If we are interested in trying one or other, let me know. Obviously,
fitting this in would involve a short but complete break as the studio
would loose supply whilst we swapped over.
