Quick summary of where we are:
So Ralphs e-bay decks only worked on one side.... arghhh!
he tried to re-instate the old-old decks (the one where only one deck
worked) but that has now developed a completely dead type of fault. I
have brought that one home to see if I can do anything with it.
If Ralph is not able to get another pair he has his eye on before COP
today, he will bring the New pair he bought back to the Studio, and we
can use the loan CD as the 2nd CD...
I know its still not ideal, and I hear what eveyone is saying about just
going and buying new decks. Problem being, the only new decks available
are more cheap Chinese products that are likely to be just as
problematic.... if we can hold our nerve, and acquire a decent pair of
quality Decks 2nd hand, think we should wait for that.
Longer term, I think that we ought to be moving our music libraries to
digital anyway, but I understand thjat not everyone has that capability,
that said though, Im sure we have enough people in our little family
that can assist with that migration task....... anyway, one for future
discussion...
lets see what Ralph can sort out......
Unless anyone else has a head start on a pair oif decks that we can use
reliably till the end of broadcast?
