I've been thinking of ways we can promote EVs to those in our community
who, politically speaking, lean more to the right. One message that I
think might resonate with them is the fact that EVs are powered by an
energy source that is 100% made in America. This is not something I
thought much about until our friend Robert Finn brought this up in a KEVA
meeting a while back.
I think one effective way to spread this message would be to just put it on
our cars. I've come up with an idea for some bumper stickers that simply
say "This Car Powered By 100% American-Made Electricity." I made them in
both rectangular and oval versions. I've included a couple pictures where
I've "photoshopped" a rectangular one onto my Volt and also onto a Tesla to
give you an idea of what they would actually look like on a car.
I'd like to hear your feedback and find out if you would be interested in
getting one. If so, I could order several and then get a price break on
them. The rectangular stickers are 10 inches x 2.5 inches, and the oval
ones are 4 inches x 6 inches.
I'm not looking to make any money on this, and I'm happy to do this as a
gift to the KEVA community. However, you are more than welcome to donate
to the project if you wish.
We could do them in any color combination, and with or without a border.
Other sticker options include clear stickers or even transfer stickers that
put the letters directly on your car. The letters could be any color you
want.
Keeping with the "American-Made" theme, these stickers would be made by
carstickers.com in Bend, Oregon.
