and Conservation Field Offices (TDEC) and DriveElectricTN (DET), kicked off

PROJECT SPOTLIGHT! Tennessee's First Electric Vehicle Fleet Case Studies, in
partnership, with East Tennessee State University's Masters of Business
Administration program In early 2020, DriveElectricTN (DET) project leaders
began developing their initiatives and programs for 2020-2021 using a
multi-year strategy, called the DET Roadmap that was created and published in
2019 by various stakeholders. From the strategy, an EV task force team
developed, from the Opportunity Area AWARENESS, that focused on Fleet case
studies. East Tennessee State University M.B.A. students were asked by DET task
force leaders to produce Tennessee's first Electric Vehicle (EV) Fleet Case
study. The work began in May 2020 and will be completed by May 2021. This will
also be the first DET working partnership with students at a university
system. "We are incredibly fortunate to have this opportunity to work with Dr.
Bill Heise, E.T.S.U.'s M.B.A. Program Director and his students," said Virginia
Salazar Buda, DET Coordinator. "Our task force team members are looking forward
to this first-time experience working with university students where they'll
have a unique opportunity to get a real-world working experience through this
project," concluded Salazar Buda. The students at E.T.S.U. will be creating
Fleet case studies for Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority
(CARTA) and Tennessee's first EV school bus in Washington County. For more
