That’s really interesting! Almost ANYTHING they can do to clean up the shipping
industry is well worth the effort.
Because they burn the dirtiest of all fossil fuels (bunker fuel - which is one
notch above tar), they emit an enormous amount of pollutants.
Consider this little nugget of information:
“By burning heavy fuel oil, just 15 of the biggest ships emit more of the
noxious oxides of nitrogen and sulphur than all the world’s cars put together.”
