because it is defalt to go to the top of a list and that is where you have the
old mail. You need to change the order of the list so newest is on top.

Subject: [mac4theblind] Apple mail
Hi again
More questions…every time I leave Apple mail and return to it, I am put at the
top of the list where my oldest message is. I have it set for new messages to
be at the bottom but am always returned to the older messages.
The Apple person tried this on his computer and got the same result. He says it
is typical behavior but it never was.
Any ideas how to fix this?
Thanks
Barbara
