Yes Trish I’ve had no problems until the latest batch of files was sent. They
always open in pages, never have to save them, just copy and paste to text
edit, easy for me to paste and rename for my purposes.
It’s hard working with others who use different programs as things go south
sometimes.
I think there has to be some corruption of her files as I’ve never had the
problem before and I work with her files regularly.
I’ll find out today as I’ve requested she send me one file at a time and
we’ll go from there after I restart as John suggested.

Just out of curiosity, did you try restarting the Mac? If you saved the
files, they should open with Microsoft Word if you have it on the Mac or
you can use the, open with, option from the shortcut menu to choose, Pages.

You can try, quick look attachments, from the file menu. I am
assuming that will allow you to view each of the attachments and
switching to subsequent ones with the right arrow.
