I guess your right, cause when I connect it to my mac, a pop up tells me to
empty my trash, so if its dumping from the thumb drive to mac trash, then i’ll
start looking there for this trash i need to toss.

understanding is the system deletes and moves the files to the trash folder on
the machine itself, unless it's an external system drive. Unless this can be
done via terminal.
