I have Abby Fine Reader Express on my macbook, and use it with my Epson
Perfection V200 scanner. No need for any other softwear or ocr programs such
as vueskin, just the Abby Fine Reader and the Epson scanner, very smooth and
good results for the most part.

What OCR software do you prefer for using on mac? I've tested several brands
like FineReader, I.R.I.s. and Prizmo, bot none of them realy had convinced me.
The one I've purchased finally is called ExactScan Pro. Developer of that
great peace of software is ExactCode, a relatively new startup company
localized in Berlin, Germany. But don't worry, they are completely related to
international market, so the overlay of thair apps comes in several languges.
The app automaticly detect the primary localization of the machine it had been
installed and allways provides the correct menu language. ExactScan Pro comes
with ready to run scanner drivers for over 300 models. It auto detect what
scanners are connected to the mac and arrange the collrect driver so all things
are ready to run immediately after install procedure.
To my personal oppinion, one of the highlights of ExactScan Pro is the
extremely flexible purpose profile concept that allows perfect optimizations
for nearly any kind of work. You may ether use one of the given presets or you
may create a totally new one, depending e.g. on the used paper document or
image file. No need to mention that this app is able to handle both kinds of
documents. You may open the result of any processed Page with any editor or
viewer of your choice. There are several features that supports the needs of
the VIP comunity. e.g. AutoRotate. All overlay objects and buttons are clearly
labeled. The app runs very well with VoiceOver.

You may get ExactScan Pro at the Mac App Store. I don't know how much it is in
dollars, Here in germany it's arround 109 €
