Interesting, I know the new Mac Mini M1 has a base as the earlier machines did
but I didn't know that the base was not removable.
I'll check this though an 8GB Mac Mini M1 should suit me down to the ground, I
had planned to upgrade to 64GB of RAM over time.
There are other things about the M1 machine I didn't know till a few hours ago
having read a review on the machine.
The 2 number of Thunderbolt ports is down from 4 found on the previous Intel
model to 2, that might be a problem for some people.
Also the Thunderbolt Ports for want of a better description on the New Mac Mini
are USB 4 ports and this alone makes for some interesting challenges so I'll
dig up the review I was reading and forward it to the list.
The previous model of Intel Mac Mini released in 2018 could support 10GBPS
Internet whereas - rather surprisingly in my view - the new M1 Mac Mini does
not.

You cannot expand the ram, not even on the Mac mini. This was stated in the
keynote back in October i think.

Hi.
I should have the machine early next week and to say I can’t wait would be an
understatement <smile>.
Did any list member get a M1 machine and if so what do they think? Anything
In particularl I should be made aware of? I know I can’t use my Acapela
voices any longer, a slight irritation yes but I’ll manage all the same.
I’ve ordered a machine with 8GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD drive, easy enough to
expand the RAM if need be and to add a Thunderbolt 3 SSD drive to the system
should I need extra storage.
