[mac4theblind] Problem when booting up

Every second or third time I boot up, I hear voiceover say “application”.
At that point nothing’s in the boiceover cursor.

My only recourse seems to be to hold the power button ’til it clicks off.
When I reboot, all’s well.

I suspect the problem is that some damn notification has come up, & I don’t
know how to deal with it.

System preferences doesn’t seem to have a way to turn this off.

What can I do about this annoyance?

Thanksin advance.************
