Hi,
When I got my MacBook Pro couple of months back, as soon as I open the lid, the
voice prompts started and it actually asked me if I would like to use voice
over for installation. It was absolutely easy.
Best,
Manoj

Hi everyone.
Well good news was to be had this morning with the arrival of the M1 Mac
mini.
As the review I posted stated, the looks between the old and the new
machines are striking though its obvious when you look round the back that
the new machine has less ports than the old, the review covers this topic
in detail.
So I plugged in and switched on prepared to press command-f5 and hear
VoiceOver welcome me? Not on your life, what I did get was a keyboard tone
which is an indication that I’ve pressed a wrong key.
I tried other combinations including Fn-Command-F5 but no joy there so
decided to go and do some Google searching which I’ll get to in a moment.
I’m sure I heard the Mac mini say something though not quite sure what it
was but when I came back and pressed command-F5 VoiceOver started up, oh
joy!
That joy was short lived however because I couldn’t get connected to my
Wi-Fi so I went to the start of the wizard and lost Voiceover again,
couldn’t reenable it.
So that’s where I am at the moment and an appropriate time to relate a few
changes in the installation process I’ve thus far observed.
When I got VoiceOver finally started up the first dialogue that appeared
was the select country table, all usual there.
The next was interesting as several screens appeared 1 after the other
which offered the user to enable or disable a lot of accessibility
functions of the machine including VoiceOver, naturally I made sure
VoiceOver was enabled <smile>.
I’ll give it all another try later on today.
