If you have your voice over hints turned on pay attention to those and just
keep practicing it.
I think of the flick left and right as the tab being your items on the screen
and the double tap s the enter key on a conventional keyboard, or a double
click in windows if you will. The swipe left and right with 3 fingers as
turning pages in a book, and the swipe up and down with 3 fingers as viewing
more or less of what ever you are viewing EG, a facebook post, rows in a
table, etc
