No this is not normal. Give it time though to complete, I'm sure the packages
will disappear.

As far as I can tell, when ever a backup either automatic or manual has been
created, they all appear to be successful. That is, ice never had any errors
with TM on the backup external hard drive I'm using it with.
I should point out that I've recently reformatted this external hard drive
too.
