[mac4theblind] Using my cell number on my iPad for face time I messaging etc.

Hi I have a question for you all
Before I updated my iPhone and iPad to the latest iOS version, iOS eight, both
my iPhone and iPad were using my cell number four I messaging. Since I have
gotten the new cell phone running iOS eight and updated my iPad mini to the
latest software, I cannot seem to get the iPad to use my cell number for I
messaging. I would like them both to sync together like they used to. I have
done a reset of all settings and still can't get it to work. Any thoughts? The
iPad seems to want to use my Apple ID email address for I messagingall my
friends have my iPhone number and message me with that.
I don't know if it is causing the problem but I cannot get handoff to work
either. It says I need the iPad to be logged into my Apple ID account. I've
checked both devices and they are logged into the same account. I hope someone
out there can help.
