[mac4theblind] Using numbers on the mac

Hi all,
Thanks as ever for your help thus far. I downloaded pages and numbers on my
mac. I am self employed so use numbers for keeping track of my income and
financial things.
I imported an excel workbook into numbers. I know it is there but I can't seem
to navigate among sheets in the workbook. It is quite frustrating as I notice
a table that says sheets list but when I try to interact with it, it bounces me
out.
Any ideas or short cuts for navigating among sheets in a book like that?
