I recently had to revisit the creation of my first applid
on an iPad2. I had to get my account unlocked because of too many
authentication attempts and that's how I discovered just how
flaky voiceover is on occasion. I do want to say that normally,
it is fine but here's what happened.
I had to answer the security questions I had selected
when originally setting up the account and that should ahve been
no trouble at all but voiceover would not echo key strokes as I
typed them in on the answer field of the first security question
and I have never been sure whether or not it really took the
input. On the second security question, it has always worked as
expected.
I also discovered that sometimes the system tells you
what you did wrong and other times it just seems to go along and
later one realizes that nothing really happened. I kind of get
the feeling that the security software needs a bit of attention
for voiceover users using a bluetooth keyboard. The flakyness has
sometimes added hours to my attempts to use what should be a dirt
simple application.
Has anybody else noticed this sort of misbehavior? Other
forms that one must fill out go smoothly as silk with no nasty
surprises.
I have a case open with Apple support so maybe I will
find out something useful.
