[mac4theblind] accessing the mac remotely

is there a way to access the mac's file system from your iphone, without having
to enter the ip address? I think you can do it via vlc, but I think that
requires your ip address, as opposed to just noticing your computer's there on
the local network and entering your username and password. on a related note,
is there an accessible way to remotely control your mac, from, say another
computer? thanks for answering all my questions.************
