They took it away from El Capitan. I did an upgrade, and all the sounds I used
from Yosemite was gone, then I did a clean install, and when I went to copy
them in that folder, it just booted at me, did the same on Sierra when I just
tried 20 minutes ago.

extension with the other one. You generally don't want to do this unless
you are converting, then let the program ahndle all of this for you.
Changing from mp3 to aif won't convert the file. It will cause the header
information to be read wrong..

I think Tim answered this on another list you are on, but you use the
Get Info Window with command-I in Finder when you are on the file. There
is a section in which you can tell the system which App you want to open
those file types in the future.
