Alrighty, solved your problem. It's a bit tricky, but it works.
I had the same problem.
Open Netflix app, put your thumb over the name you want to activate, keep
your thumb steady and triple click the home button to turn VO off, tap your
thumb on the name, and then triple click to reactivate VO. You will be in
Netflix proper at that juncture.
